Considering a career in Brisbane's cafe industry?

Info Info - Tuesday, June 16, 2015

With coffee being the second most traded commodity globally, there is certainly no shortage of of cafes and coffee shops at the opposite end of the long coffee chain in which to enjoy it.

With Melbourne having asserted itself as Australias coffee hotspot destination, its very encouraging to see these trendy, new age cafes regularly appearing in and around Brisbane. In fact, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Ipswich and Toowoomba have become a region of rapid growth for the specialty coffee industry, as the home of several boutique and specialty roasters making a name for themselves in the Australian industry.

The great thing about this rising cafe and roastery trend is that its propelled the careers of many baristas as a real profession, as opposed to a time when theyd previously have been known as coffee makers or cafe hands in casual or temporary roles, in between jobs.

Likewise, its encouraged some real creative license amongst chefs to design some experimental menus moving food in a direction away from classical cafe fare. In fact, its considered that modern cafe food is now driving food trends in restaurants and not the other way around.

We are also seeing cafe owners making a significant contribution in this respect, pushing the boundaries of average to appear fresh and innovative. I Need A Chef clients are always on the lookout for superstar chefs and kitchen staff who want to make a unique contribution to some landmark cafes.

Register with us here, and we’ll match you up with a project or client to satisfy your next career move, or assist with your training needs to get you on track.
